UTMB strongly believes in equal rights and opportunities for all members of the trail-running community. We are in the process of building inclusion and diversity policies on gender, race, age, social class and more. We endeavour to grow and continue to evolve the sport and to make UTMB World Series welcoming for each athlete.
UTMB World Series Pregnancy Policy
In the ongoing effort of UTMB to increase and encourage women participation in trail running, UTMB has implemented a new pregnancy policy across all UTMB World Series races.
Who is eligible for the policy?
- Athletes that are pregnant
- Athletes with a partner that is pregnant
- Athletes that are adopting or birthing via surrogacy
Lottery races:
- We will provide a full refund and a priority entry valid for up to 5 years for 50K, 100K, 100M races and up to 2 years for 20K races to women who are pregnant
- We will provide a full refund and a priority entry to the same race valid for up to 2 years to partners and parents adopting or birthing via surrogacy
Non-lottery races:
- We will provide a full refund or a deferred entry valid for up to 2 years for women who are pregnant, partners and parents adopting or birthing via surrogacy
Terms and conditions

UTMB World Series Adaptive Athlete Policy
As part of UTMB's ongoing efforts to increase and encourage the participation of athletes with disabilities in trail running races, UTMB has implemented a new policy for all UTMB World Series events.
Who is eligible for the policy?
This policy will apply to athletes in the adaptive athlete open division. Participation in the Adaptive Athlete Open Division is available to athletes with the following disabilities:
- Visual Impairment
- Intellectual Disability
- Physical or Neurological Movement Disability
Runner-Guide Policy:
All adaptive athletes are allocated an extra bib number, free of charge, for a guide runner to accompany them on all or parts of their race. See conditions.

In our ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and equal access for adaptive athletes in the UTMB World Series, we have introduced a dedicated pathway to the finals. See conditions.
PROCESS FOR ADAPTIVE ATHLETES
- Complete the Adaptive Athlete Open Application.
- You will be contacted once your adaptive athlete status has been approved.
- When you register to a new event, please directly contact the race organization with the confirmation of your adaptive athlete open approval.
- If you require a runner-guide, please contact the race organization directly with the following information : the name and contact details of your chosen runner-guide. Please contact the organization as soon as you have registered.
- You must pre-register for the Hoka UTMB Mont-Blanc if you wish to participate and contact the organisation with proof of your status approval.
