In the ongoing effort of UTMB to increase and encourage women participation in trail running, UTMB has implemented a new child welcome policy across all UTMB World Series races in 2023.

Who is eligible for the policy?

• Athletes that are pregnant
• Athletes with a partner that is pregnant
• Athletes that are adopting or birthing via surrogacy 
• Athletes undergoing Medically Assisted Reproduction

Lottery races:

• We will provide a full refund (excluding service fees and additional purchases) and a priority entry valid for up to 5 years for 50K, 100K, 100M races and up to 2 years for 20K races to women who are pregnant
• We will provide a full refund (excluding service fees and additional purchases) and a priority entry to the same race valid for up to 2 years to partners and parents adopting or birthing via surrogacy

 

Non-lottery races:

• We will provide a full refund (excluding service fees and additional purchases) or a deferred entry valid for up to 2 years for women who are pregnant, partners and parents adopting or birthing via surrogacy

As part of UTMB Group's ongoing efforts to increase and encourage the participation of adaptive athletes in trail running events, UTMB Group has implemented a new policy for all UTMB World Series events. This policy aims to officially recognize adaptive athletes and provide them with solutions to facilitate their participation in UTMB World Series events.

Who is eligible for the policy?

This policy applies to athletes with the following impairments:

• Visual Impairment (*)
• Intellectual Disability (*)
• Physical or Neurological Movement Disability (*)

Note: This policy applies to athletes able to run using their own physical effort. Some events can also accommodate athletes using a trail wheelchair or joëlette, in a non-competitive format. For more information, please contact the event of your choice directly.

Guide-Runner Policy:

All officially recognized adaptive athletes may be accompanied by a guide runner, free of charge, for all or part of the course.

Qualification System for UTMB World Series Finals:

As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and equal access, a facilitated pathway to the Finals has also been established for adaptive athletes.

PROCESS FOR ADAPTIVE ATHLETES

1. Submit the form to be recognised as an Adaptive Athlete Form Application.
2. A committee will assess your eligibility based on the established criteria. If approved, you will be granted official and permanent adaptive athlete status.
3. Participation in a UTMB World Series Event: When registering for a UTMB World Series event, please contact the race organization directly with your confirmation of approved adaptive athlete status.
4. If you need a guide runner, please contact the race organization directly with your guide's name and contact information as soon as you register.
5. Participation in the Finals: To benefit from facilitated access to the Finals (OCC, CCC, UTMB), you must pre-register and contact the organization before the pre-registration deadline.
