Vielha 10K: A Special Race Celebrating the Spirit of Sport
In the heart of the Pyrenees, surrounded by the unmatched beauty of the Val d’Aran, the Vielha 10K is born—a special race that celebrates the spirit of sport, nature, and the dedication of those who make every event possible: volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, and of course, the runners.
Starting and finishing in Vielha, this 8-kilometer course with 600 meters of elevation gain follows trails and paths that showcase just a small glimpse of the region’s unique beauty.
Taking place on Wednesday, July 2, after the elite athlete presentation, the race will begin at the Ultra-Trail® Village with a clear goal: to enjoy and share the passion for trail running.
More than just a sporting event, the Vielha 10K is an invitation to explore and feel the essence of the Val d’Aran, regardless of level or experience. It’s a unique opportunity to move, breathe fresh air, and share an unforgettable day in an extraordinary setting.
• Closed shoes suitable for trail running. Barefoot running is not allowed.
• A backpack or similar to carry the mandatory material during the race. It is compulsory to add the timing chip delivered with the race bib to the outside of the backpack.
• Mobile phone (smartphone MANDATORY): the runner must be reachable at any time before, during and after the race:
- Mobile phone with international roaming allowing for its use in Spain (load into its memory the organisation's security numbers, don't mask your number and don't forget to start the race with the battery fully charged)
- Keep the phone on, airplane mode is prohibited and could give rise to penalties.
- Livetrail application installed and activated.
• Personal beaker 15 cl minimum (bottles or flasks with lids are not accepted).
• 1 Headlamp in good working condition with spare batteries or rechargeable batteries. Recommendation: 200 lumens or more.
• Water reserve of 0.5 litre minimum.
• Survival blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum.
• Jacket with a hood that can withstand bad weather in the mountains and made with a waterproof* and breathable** membrane (Outdry for example) *Minimum recommended 10,000 Schmerber **RET recommended less than 13. The jacket must have an integrated hood or a hood attached with a system originally provided by the manufacturer. The seams must be heat-sealed. The jacket must not have any parts made of a non-waterproof fabric, only the vents provided by the manufacturer (under the arms, on the back) and as long as they do not obviously alter the waterproofing, are accepted. It is the responsibility of the runner to judge, according to these criteria, whether his jacket is adapted to the regulations and therefore to bad weather in the mountains, but in a control, the judgement of the person in charge of the control or of the commissaire will prevail.
