Antonio Martínez y Onditz Iturbe se proclaman vencedores de la SKY
At 10:00 in the morning, in the Pla de Beret, the SKY, the 15 km race that climbs up to the sky of the Val d'Aran, started.
800 metres of elevation gain and a high podium. The Valencian Antonio Martínez took first place in the SKY Master with a time of 01:13:12. He was accompanied on the podium by Vincent Loustau with a time of 01:15:59, and Roger Comellas who completed the course in 01:16:46.
In the women's category, the Basque Onditz Iturbe was the fastest, crossing the finish line in a time of 01:29:00. After her came Ana Tauste, who stopped the clock in 01:34:19, and Robyn Lesh, who was third, with a time of 01:34:53.
In the SKY Promesas, for 16 to 21 year olds, Joan Cabré, Pablo Cuevas and Adrian Vos were the first three to reach the finish line, while Mireia Tabuenca, Aitana Ferrando, and Aone Landa finished in their corresponding categories.
The morning also saw the Trail Festival Baqueira Beret, the outdoor festival dedicated to families and companions, organised by the Baqueira Beret ski resort, which attracted a large number of participants. Games, activities and races for the youngest members of the family.
Tomorrow at 8:00 am the last race of Val d'Aran by UTMB® will start and one of the novelties of this third edition of the event, the EXP of 32 kilometres, with 2,000 metres of positive difference in altitude, starting and finishing in Vielha. A new distance for middle distance lovers, but also for those who want to get started in the world of trail running.
